Anti-lice combs

How the project came about

Inventor Moshe Dolve came up with an idea that was as ingenious as it was simple, which made it possible to eliminate the problem of lice (the scourge of children of primary school age) without the use of chemical products, relying instead on an electronic comb that, on coming into contact with lice, emits a small electrical charge that kills them. The inventor created a prototype and sold the patent to a well-known international company that went on to engineer the solution.

Our input

Having contacted the producer, we decided to deal with the launch of the product in collaboration with a pharmaceutical company and with the manufacturer. After conducting an analysis of the market, we were sure that the discovery could revolutionise the sector.

The innovation of this pioneering product was not immediately understood by users since the product was so unusual for the pharmaceutical sector - as such, initial sales were not particularly high. However, competitor companies realised the significance of the idea, and in recent years, anti-lice combs have become commonplace. The same principle was applied to create anti-lice combs for animals.

Our contribution to the project came to an end in 2000.

Why was it successful?

The product was successful because it resolved the problem of lice with a simple combing action, without recourse to chemical products.
