Machine to produce chips

How the project came about
The idea came to Englishman Alfred Gooding, who patented an appliance to produce chips, which are almost impossible to make well at home. The concept combined a fryer and a slicer into a single unit. The appliance is fitted with a container for the insertion of whole, peeled potatoes and an electronic system for the automatic dispensing of crunchy, flavoursome chips. The inventor invested directly in the discovery right up until the final phase in which the appliance was manufactured. Our input
Having received the project, we carried out an analysis of the market and decided to invest alongside the inventor in the launch of the product. We dealt with the marketing and communication aspects.
Initial sales of Chipsy King exceeded all expectations. The technical complexity of the product and the high cost of production made it very much a niche product.
Our input in the project came to an end in 2003.
