What experience does Brain Provider have in evaluating patents?

We leverage more than 30 years of experience in the evaluation of innovative projects in the consumer goods sector. We cover all the bases: from the source of the idea in its embryonic stage, through its selection, all the way to the manufacture of the product based on the invention. The project was initiated at the end of the 1970s with a view to researching and making the most of the ideas and patents of both companies and individuals. Our operations have given rise to highly successful solutions, well-known brands and companies that have gone on to sell millions of products. The most famous brands include: Parimor, Unus, Epilady, Bullock and many more besides.

How long does it take to evaluate a patent?

From one to three months, based on the complexity of the invention.

On the basis of which criteria are patents selected for insertion into the Portfolio?

The first pre-requisite is the validity of the claim to ownership of the relevant intellectual property. Subsequently, an analysis is made of the potential of the discovery on the basis of its potential commercial success and all of the difficulties involved in realising that potential.

Can registered Companies obtain more information on the individual patents in the Portfolio?

Yes, on request, Brain Provider will send all of the documentation and information required for a more effective evaluation of the discovery. If the patent application is still confidential (i.e. up to 18 months filing), the Company will be asked to sign a Confidentiality Agreement, but only following the granting of authorisation on the part of the Inventor.

Who decides on the price if the decision is taken to purchase the patent?

The price is agreed directly between the Company interested in making the purchase and the Inventor.

Can the Company obtain support from the Inventor after the acquisition of patent?

The terms of the agreement are entirely at the discretion of the parties.

How and when is the Inventor paid?

The payment of the Inventor is set out in the contract stipulated between the parties at the time when the patent is acquired by the Company.

How is Brain Provider remunerated?

Brain Provider receives an annual subscription from the registered Companies. If the intellectual capital is transferred between brainboxes and Companies and/or patents are transferred, a commission for mediation is agreed in advance with the Company.
